Painting is my way of exploring the various spaces that are occupied by one’s own identity. I am particularly intrigued by the development of form through the relational properties of the past to the present. Within these places of connection, there becomes a possibility to make the invisible, visible.

My current project, 52/25, expands upon this idea by reducing the subject matter to a single image, my childhood home. The impulse to paint this structure over and over was born from a place of longing for a solid connection to the past. Eventually, this body of work will grow to 52 paintings, which is the age of my father when he passed 25 years ago.
